What we are
An open studio at the intersection of things that don’t fit anywhere else — civic tech that actually serves communities, contemplative practice as a field of inquiry, art as research, and design as a civic act.
We are not a think tank, an agency, or a collective. We are an ongoing experiment in what happens when you take ideas seriously enough to build them — and stay open enough to let others build alongside you.
Design
How people interact with information, systems, and each other. Cognitive accessibility as principle, not accommodation.
Explore →The Mind
Contemplative practice as a field of inquiry. The study of attention and what it means to know something from the inside.
Explore →Art & Painting
Visual thinking as research. Making visible what can't be described any other way. The studio as laboratory.
Explore →Civic Technology
Tools built for communities that usually don't get them. Plain language, locally grounded, open.
Explore →Ideas too small for institutions.
Too big for conversations.

Experiments
What’s running in the studio, on the workbench, and in the field. Experiments are open, in progress, and provisional by design.
An open
platform.
Little Big Ideas is not a closed studio. If you’re working in civic tech, contemplative practice, art, or design — and you have an experiment that doesn’t fit anywhere else — we want to hear from you.
